Cauliflower Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Something that I’ve recently discovered is something called cauliflower mashed potatoes.

They taste just like mashed potatoes, but they are healthier for you. Now lets be real they don’t taste exactly like mashed potatoes nor do they taste better, but the taste is very similar to mashed potatoes (was enough to surprise me).

Either way it’s something that I recently made, and in my opinion it’s definitely worth trying.

The Recipe:

What you will need:

1 head of cauliflower (or as many as you want)

Milk (I used almond)


Salt, garlic, parsley, and black pepper

What To Do:

Fill a pot with water and start to boil it. While it is heating up wash your head of cauliflower and then start to chop it up (I cut it in half and then started to rip it off), and throw it into the water.

You can wait until it’s starting to boil, or just throw it in before it start to boil just like I did.

Then wait for it to boil, and lower the heat then let it simmer for a while (5-7 minutes), or until the cauliflower is tender (use a fork). To be honest I didn’t really follow this step my cauliflower was somewhat tender, but should have cooked a little longer which it doesn’t really matter it just makes it harder to process in the blender.

After that put that shit in a blender and add some milk (I just eye balled it) if you want to have an idea just use very little like 1 or 2 ounces (1/4th cup=2 ounces).

Blend it up breaking up the cauliflower I used a blender, but a food processor would probably work better.

After it’s been blended up it’s time to add the seasonings alone with the butter. Just put in a tablespoon or so of butter then add salt, garlic, parsley, and black pepper. Just add as much as you want I added a little more salt since salt makes a huge difference when it comes to mashed potatoes (or in this case mashed cauliflower).

Then blend it some more make sure there are no chunks unless you like chunks double check to make sure the butter along with the spices are well mixed into the mashed cauliflower.

That’s all you have to do it’s ready to eat.

Why Make This?

For starters it’s lower carb and less calories.

Also a great way to get some cauliflower in your diet.


This is something that I randomly heard of and just had to try it. It’s really easy to make and doesn’t really cost that much since where I live one head of cauliflower =around $2.

Also I meal prepped using this, and was able to fit this into many containers.

There is also another recipe using cauliflower and cheese which tastes amazing and could be used as a healthier replacement to mac n cheese, or any other kind of cheesy dish that the little fatty in you desires (which I would use it sparingly either way it’s a great healthier alternative to mac n cheese, or some other cheesy dish).
